A nation that feeds itself: Iran defiance against war and sanctions

War is a scourge upon humanity - a force of devastation and suffering. Over the past 45 years, the Iranian people have endured not only the bitter sting of sanctions but also the ravages of two imposed wars.

Yet through it all - through unjust sanctions, through eight years of war, and now through the attacks by the illegitimate Zionist regime 

- we have never known food shortages or famine. This resilience stems from Iran’s agricultural foundations, built on independence and self-sufficiency.

My homeland, Iran, is a land of abundant natural wealth, capable of sustaining diverse agricultural production. Our greatest asset, however, is our people - the driving force behind our food security. Together, these strengths ensure that our nation remains nourished, whether in peace, under sanctions, or amid war.

The Ministry of Agricultural, bolstered by domestic production and strategic international partnerships, stands unwavering in its commitment to food security. Recent market stability, well-stocked supply chains, and strategic reserves are testament to this enduring stability.

The Zionist regime, meanwhile, has repeatedly flouted international law, even weaponizing food and medicine against innocent civilians in occupied territories. But let it be clear: Iran has meticulously safeguarded its people’s sustenance against all threats, at all times.

I call upon the world to no longer turn a blind eye to the Zionist regime’s brutality. Global institutions and international observers must act decisively- not just witness, but intervene - to end this war.
